Peer-Reviewed Article from CPC Map Researchers Describing CPC Characteristics and Changes Post-Dobbs Published in the American Journal of Public Health
The first data to enumerate and describe changes to CPCs nationally following the 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court decision was published in the American Journal of Public Health (AJPH). Since 2021, the number of CPCs operating in the US has increased by 3.3%. Of the 2,633 CPCs operating in 2024, 71.7% offered nondiagnostic ultrasounds, 28.0% advertised sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, 17.2% STI treatment, 6.8% HIV testing, and 3.8% unproven “abortion reversal” on-site. By state, the total number of CPCs and the rate of newly identified CPCs were significantly greater in states with dedicated CPC grant programs.
